PLASMEDIC FAQ
If you feel any of the below contraindications may apply to you please contact us and we can discuss this with you further.
How does the Plasmedic treatment work?
The Plasmedic device creates a voltage difference between the device and the skin resulting in a small millimeter size carbon spot where the excess skin has been evaporated.Do I need a consultation?
Yes. We always recommend a consultation. Your Plasmedic Technician will assess and suggest a treatment plan for you.
Does the treatment hurt?
We use a topical numbing cream to help minimise any pain or discomfort as much as possible. Overall our clients tell us the treatment is not that painful. usually the eye or neck area is the most sensitive.
How long will it take to see results?
Results can usually be seen immediately. Result are more noticable once the scabs have fallen off after day 7 and continue to improve for 2-3 months. Results are expected to last 2-5 years depending on the client.
How many treatments will I need?
One treatment is often enough however severity of eyelids or wrinkles and client’s expectations are all taken into account. Some clients may need a 2nd or 3rd treatment. We find the eyelid area usually needs more then one treatment where as wrinkles often only need one treatment. We recommend any extra treatments to be done 2-3 months apart.
How long do results last?
Typically around 2-5 years. Clients results vary depending on diet, lifestyle and the way your skin naturally ages. The treatment can be repeated anytime.
Are there any after effects?
Plasmedic treatments are extremely safe. We always check all contraindications to see if there is any reason you would have an undesired result. Very rarely reactions to the topical numbing cream, wound healing problems, skin infections, scarring, slight swelling, redness, tingling can occur. Rest assured this is extremely rare and as long as you let us know of any skin problems or health issues and follow our aftercare program you should be fine.
Immediately after the procedure, the treated area will be quite red and mildly swollen. This can last from 1-3 days. The small carbon dots will dry to become small crusts. These crusts must not be picked or scratched off as this will cause scarring.
Once the crusts have fallen off it is essential you use our Plasmedic Healing Gel.
